Hello World Wide Web Friends.
I have taken a sufficient amount of time away from my computer/internet and have some new things to blog about.
Today I would just like to talk about how I have settled in to my townhouse with my boyfriend Tyson and my dog Sophie and we are loving in in Story's Beach. The weather is rainy, sunny, rainy with a bit of sun and pouring rain with sun. Basically to describe Port Hardy's weather I rely on the Twilight Saga as most of it was filmed all around vancouver island.
I have taken about a month or so off from my blog this was due to a bunch of factors, moving, being lazy/not wanting to think of stuff to write and the main objective..Port Hardy's Local Internet provider which cannot be named. Lets just say there are two main players and it is not TELUS.
Now Port Hardy is some what of a remote area so there is really only one main internet provider and they go by code name... Rob You Blind Ltd. They provide internet, cable and digital cable to all the locals who wanna pay the prime dime for their services.
Now this seemed like a good idea for us to get internet because I am living on the other side of the country and want a way to keep in touch without having to use my iphone all the time.
We get the internet hooked up pay the bill and as the installation tech informs me of the service link that I can go on to from time to time to keep track of how much downloaded GB (gigabytes) I use in a month. I give him a strange look and reply "why the heck would I care about that?" Too my horror he explains that Rob You Blind Ltd has to pay for their internet and feeds me crap and explains that as internet users we are only allowed 15 GB a month of downloads and that for every GB we go over we pay $9.99.
So Tyson and I really pick and choose what we watch online and what we rent or buy of the itunes store. Picture it this way, a 30 min tv show that you live stream online takes up 500KB .
( 1024KB=1MB and 1024 MB=1GB) It all adds up very quickly when you are only given 15 GB
So Rob You Blind Ltd has full monopoly over Port Hardy and we just have to continue to monitor our usage because the other competitor only offers a usb plug in gadget that connects you to a satellite internet connection but when you go that route you are still paying a monthly fee and have to sigh up similar to something you would do for a cell phone. Minium of a 3 year contract.
Needless to say it doesn't take much KB to write a little blog post here and there so I will pull up my socks and give you all some words of delight as often as I can.
My very good friend Una Lounder has a blog that she has been blogging on for almost a year and the link is http://thelittleredpaperclip.blogspot.com/ She asked me to guest blog from time to time. I am the guest blogger this week for Thrifty Thursday if you wanna venture over to her site and take a read.
I have been doing my Epicure Consulting for about 3 months now am love it. I love anything that is made local..Sidney, BC and kept in CANADA!!!
I am throwing my first Epicure Party tonight for two of my friends ! I will blog about that tomorrow and let you all know how it goes.
Sophie has adjusted well to the move, she has her doggie beds located in her two prime laying areas. One is downstairs directly across from where I stand in the kitchen to prep dinners and make snacks. And the second is right next to my side of the bed so she can keep an eye on me when Im sleeping. She also loves the woods and trails around here and love going for adventure walks.
Well until next time bloggers,
Kris
